Tartu 2024 Seeks Volunteers to Assist with European Cultural Events
Tartu 2024 is looking for volunteers to help organise cultural events in Tartu and Southern Estonia prior to the title year.
Those interested in applying must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers will be needed for events from the summer to the fall of 2023.
“We are looking for volunteers who are not only superheroes, but also cheerful, willing to work, communicative, self-thinking and environmentally friendly,” Tartu 2024 Volunteer Leader Kaimo Kukk said. “We invite you to apply if you recognise at least one quality in yourself,” he continued.
Last year, more than 40 volunteers put in over 700 hours to ensure the success of Tartu 2024 events. At least 50 volunteers are expected to help this year. “Those who have never volunteered before are strongly encouraged to apply. Each of us can help make Estonia’s and Europe’s main event a success,” Kukk elaborated.
Volunteering at the European Capital of Culture allows you to see the backstage of major events and put your skills to the test in areas you wouldn’t normally encounter. Volunteers assist foreign guests, manage the stage, sell brand products, set up equipment, ensure environmental friendliness, record events, create social media content, and write texts.
The experience allows you to meet and network with great artists, organisers, visionaries, and community representatives. Furthermore, all volunteers receive Tartu 2024 brand products, position-specific training, and shift-specific meals.
To apply, go to the Tartu 2024 website and fill out the volunteer form: https://tartu2024.ee/volunteers
The form can be filled out in both Estonian and English until April 14.
