From August 12th to 18th, Tartu will be filled with a diverse cultural program aimed at providing safe and meaningful events for the LGBT+ community, while also raising general awareness about equal rights and opportunities. Although Pride is primarily a major event for the LGBT+ community, the festival warmly welcomes all friends, supporters, and those with an open worldview, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or self-expression. Thus, human rights in general have become the central theme of Estonian Prides. Through art, discussions, and public events, the festival reflects on and highlights the concerns and joys within the community.
The main program, organized by the MTÜ Tartu LGBT+, is complemented by additional events from various partners. As part of Tartu 2024, there will be collaborations with international partners, including fellow cultural capitals from Austria and Norway.
The week-long festival offers both joyful celebrations and serious discussions about past achievements and future goals. Attendees can look forward to a variety of events where they can be with the community, show their support, and simply enjoy themselves. The program includes music, art, films, discussion circles, walks, and workshops. Tartu 2024 Pride culminates in a parade and an open-air concert at Town Hall Square.
