The 2024 Season Opening Concert of the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra brings before the audience eight powerful soloists from Estonia and abroad, as well as the orchestra, mixed choirs and boys’ choir. Over the years, many of the soloists have been guest performers on the Vanemuine theatre opera stage.

The exhibition „Surrealism 100. Prague, Tartu and other stories…“ has been created in cooperation with the National Gallery Prague to celebrate the centenary of the Surrealist manifesto. Czech and Estonian surrealist surrealism enters a dialogue to focus on the artistic narrative in the context of Eastern and Central Europe.

At the sub-exhibition in the Tartu City Museum, you can witness the creativity and resourcefulness that urban Soviet citizens had to possess. You can also see a home photo lab built in a small city home bathroom. The sub-exhibition is made based on the recollections of Tartu residents.

“Wild Bits” / outdoor exhibition about technologial art

Wild Bits is an outdoor exhibition that takes place in South Estonia, near Otepää at the art and technology farm Maajaam – both in the farmlands and in the surrounding nature. The exhibition has installations from prominent artists working with technological art as well as remarkable emerging artists.

We are working on widening the scope of creative self-expression for people in need of special support. We will introduce outsider art to a wider audience. In the summer of 2024, an international exhibition of outsider art will take place in three Estonian cities – Tartu, Valga and Viljandi.
