Snow town open on site and horse sleigh rides to all interested.
Special exhibition open from 12:00 to 18:00.
The special exhibition of winter trails has been compiled from the materials of researchers and enthusiasts of Emajõe-Suursoo and its local winter trails, as well as collected knowledge and memories of the area. Trails material is provided by Valdo Praust, nature photography by Sven Zacek. The exhibition is edited by Madli Rohesalu.
Tauri Vahesaar is a fire show artist, stuntman and slackline world champion who welcomes the viewer to an emotional world of defying gravity full of adrenaline. Vahesaar’s creative expression includes acrobatic movement, hair hanging and aerial artistry, which takes place also 7 meters in the air. During his performance, he ignites the slackline while performing on it, making the show even more exciting and powerful. His skills and imagination will take you beyond the ordinary, opening the door to a world where everything is possible.

The unique network of historic winter trails which hides in Emajõe-Suursoo leads to an extraordinary journey through time. In ancient times, seasonal winter trails formed in frozen marshes connected isolated communities and shortened distances. Today, these unique preserved routes are mostly used by wild animals and rarely by humans.
Car park is 500 m away from bus stop (marked).
The cooperation project of Luunja, Kastre and Peipsiääre municipalities is part of the South Estonian community program that is part of the main program of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 and is supported by Leader action groups. Winter Trails in Ahunapalu is organized by Department of Education and Culture of Kastre Municipality (http://kastre.ee). The hikes are guided by Nature Tours Estonia (https://naturetoursestonia.com/loodusmatkad/). The organizers have the right to make changes in the program.
Winter is coming – it’s time to set off for the Winter Trails Festival!
