Winter Bridge to Norway

Extraordinary Valentine's Day in Southeast Estonia! On the first cultural night of the "Three Bridges Across the Border" series of events, "Winter Bridge to Norway", the production hall of OÜ Hobbiton, which mainly manufactures wooden houses for Norway, will become a jazz club in Räpina.

The jazz trio, which met for the first time that evening, is united on the musical bridge by Norwegian pianist Espen Berg’s unique approach to harmony, Estonian singer Maria Väli’s bright timbre, and Armenian double bass player Ara Yaralyan’s dynamic contribution. By fusing three different musical traditions, the musicians create a special sound world. The trio’s performances intertwine original compositions, jazz classics and exciting interpretations of Estonian and Norwegian songs.
The food bridge is built by Pesa Catering, mixing the distinctive aspects of Estonian and Norwegian cuisines into a new experience. Intertwining Estonian and Norwegian traditions, guests will receive trout tartar with Norwegian potato cake and handmade herb mayonnaise, cloudberry-aged lamb neck with parsnip puree and Jegergryte sauce, and Pavlova with cloudberry cream and Gudbransdalen cheese crisps.
The bridge of stories intertwines historical and cultural relations between the guest country and Estonia. The interludes of the cultural evening share stories, observations and humour uniting the guest country and Estonia.
