Viljandi Organ Festival is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional programme.
In the performance of the masterful German organist, we will hear modern organ music from Germany and Belgium, such as Peeters’s Toccata, the fugue and hymn Ave Maris Stella, Graap’s Meditations, Simon’s Suite Ave Maria and several other exciting and attractive organ works. There is also Estonian music in the form of Edgar Arro’s folk tunes. The author’s own improvisations on the themes of earth, love and heaven add colour. Suure-Jaani’s romantic style organ gives the musician the opportunity to find colourful sound palettes and versatile dynamics, which makes the whole concert expressive and enjoyable.
