Viljandi Organ Festival is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional programme.
US organist James Hicks is very interested in Nordic and Baltic music. The organist also actively contributes to commissioning new music from local composers. The concert will be premiered by, among others. A work for organ written by Urmas Sisask for James, and Kolm piece for kandle and organ commissioned by Malle Maltis. The concert will feature works written for dulcimer and organ over a period of 100 years.
