River tour series ”Discover river Emajõgi!” Cranberry trip on Peipus barge to estuary of Emajõgi

An October trip along the autumn river of the pristine Emajõe-Suursoo leads downstream to Lake Peipus, where we will stop for a cranberry picking at the mouth of river Emajõgi in Praaga to collect the necessary vitamins for the winter. Come and discover the water world of river Emajõgi!

SERIES OF RIVER EXCURSIONS “DISCOVER THE EMAJÕGI RIVER!” 2024

We will sail through the pristine Emajõe-Suursoo along the autumn river downstream, take a brief look at Lake Peipus and then stop for a cranberry picking to get the vitamins we need for the winter. We start and end the Peipus barge cranberry trip at the RMK Kantsi campfire place. We will make a cranberry-picking stop in the village of Praaga at the mouth of river Emajõgi – there you don’t have to walk very far to get to the cranberries. We estimate about an hour for the pick-up stop. Praaga is the only mainland village in Estonia that can only be reached by waterway. A nature guide is adventuring with us, telling stories about the ship and life on shore. We offer tea and coffee on the boat (included in the price). Be sure to bring berry baskets and wear higher rubber boots. You can also have your picnic goods in one. The total duration of the trip is approximately 4.5 hours, from Tartu it takes about half an hour by car to get to Emajõe-Suursoo Centre.
