Info
We believe that a good home begins with a house and garden built with one's own hands, and to enjoy a good life, one must nourish both the body and the spirit. Therefore, we want to share the best skills and traditions of the southeastern corner of Estonia with our visitors and also bring them knowledge from our friends in Europe and beyond.
Are you a passionate green thumb and tinkerer? Or are you looking for musical experiences and a hearty meal? In Räpina, there is something for everyone.
In May 2024, Räpina will transform into a true hub of home design and culture, offering delights for both young and old visitors! The Estonian timber construction heritage week will host a conference and master competition for log house builders, attracting experts from around the world. In workshops and seminars, you can receive valuable advice on house construction and sustainable renovation, and even hone your own construction skills.
You can cheer on young gardeners from Estonia and Europe at the international gardening competition, Horty Challenge, and get your hands dirty under the guidance of Räpina Horticultural School.
During the Räpina Good Home Days, there will be a market with authentic local products, informative workshops, and an enjoyable cultural program. Folk art collectives and classical musicians from Estonia, Latvia, and Germany will perform. We also care about the well-being of our visitors: everyone is invited to the Räpina harbor for water sports, dancing at a communal party, and tasting local culinary delights at homey cafés. Perhaps you’ll discover your new favorite dish from your grandmother’s recipe book?
We are reviving the building traditions of our ancestors and sharing the knowledge of Räpina Horticultural School for the benefit of both local and international guests. Performers from Europe and beyond will, in turn, enrich the local cultural scene and home design landscape. In Räpina, we weave all these experiences into a colorful tapestry that fosters collaboration and a sense of community among both locals and friends from abroad.
Räpina Good Home Days is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 side programme.
