Info
The Open House Tartu event will give access to various unique objects in the urban space of Tartu for one weekend. We invite all architecture and culture enthusiasts to explore buildings and spaces they wouldn't typically have access to or visit on a daily basis.
The project invites you to explore the urban space of Tartu and learn about the local architecture and the history of buildings. This weekend-long event opens the doors of nearly 30 public buildings, private residences, ongoing construction projects, and intriguing office and industrial spaces. Open House Tartu provides visitors with a great opportunity to enter buildings and spaces that are typically closed to the public. The program offers tours tailored to different interests and age groups, organized based on the location, theme, and history of the buildings. What makes the building visits unique are the tours curated by individuals closely associated with the buildings, including architects, historians, residents, tenants, and managers. The goal of the Open House event is to raise awareness about architecture and urban space, thereby increasing people’s involvement in the development of these fields.
Open House Tartu 2024 is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
