Info

From June to August, five county museums – the Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum, the Ice Age Centre, Tartu City History Museum, the KGB Cells Museum and the University of Tartu Museum – are open on Thursday evenings until, appropriately enough, 20:24!

Long workdays can be exhausting. So can long vacations. Too hot out? Too cold? To survive, you’ll need an extra dose of culture. There’s no better way to recover before heading home than by visiting Tartu and Tartu County’s best museums, which are open longer on Thursdays during summer in the European Capital of Culture.

Joint project aims to enrich the cultural summer and offer townsfolk and visitors to the city an extra opportunity to enjoy Tartu’s museums. The extended opening hours enable visitors to explore the exhibitions and hidden treasures of the museums during the evening and take part in unique tours, workshops and cultural events specifically designed for this period.
