Laboratorio Module 24 is a live art installation that combines physical theatre, dance, media and installation art. The artistic group includes Anssi Laiho (Fin), Helle Mari Toomel (EE), Johhanna Anett Toomel (EE), Leevi Lehtinen (FIN) and Milla Virtanen (FIN). Laboratorio Module 24 performances will be at a gallery space in Armastusesaal at Aparaaditehas, Tartu, Estonia during 5-13.7.2024.

The artists have drawn their inspiration from the mutual love for nature, horses, nature films, siblings, miniatures and 1980s video cassettes’ overlapping recordings.

Visual world will take the viewer on a journey into their mind. The journey suggests different kinds of landscapes and illusions. Occasionally performers and inanimate objects mould together.

Laboratorio Module 24 is a statement against single use art. It’s an ongoing artistic process that develops, redevelops, remixes, and recreates by new artists, new locations, and themes.
The starting point of Laboratorio was in November 2021 when it premiered at Dance Theatre Minimi’s programme in Kuopio, Finland. It was a full-evening performative art work with several independent modules, created by artists from Belgium, Ireland and Finland.

Laboratorio Module 24 in Tartu is a standalone artwork created by a newly formed artistic team.
Laboratorio was nominated for the Videosäde prize, which is given annually for the best video design in a Finnish theatre.

Laboratorio Module 24 is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
