Info

At the international street art exhibition Hide-and-Seek (in Estonian "Peitus: Pärmikas") in Tartu's former yeast factory, you can play hide and seek with artworks on three floors!

The exhibition series “Hide and Seek” uses vacant buildings by inviting street artists to hide works in different rooms for visitors to find. Some of the artists work on the site for several days, while others come for just a few hours, which means that you can find both major works and small surprises when you explore the three floors of the building. The artists’s works are inspired by the rich history of the former yeast factory of the former yeast factory.

The yeast factory was built at Pikk 58 in 1883, originally for the production of yeast, then used as a water mill and later as a dispensary. The building became affectionately known as Pärmikas when the Tartu Culture Factory was established there, which operated from 2008 to 2010 and became an important hub of Tartu’s alternative culture.

Stencibility will organise one more cultural event in the building before the entire Pärmika quarter is redeveloped.
