Stjepan Hauser, founding member of the well-known duo 2Cellos and rock star of classical music, will perform in Tartu during part of the European Capital of Culture programme. The Croatian cellist will perform together with the band and an orchestra as part of the “Rebel with a Cello” tour.

HAUSER promises to offer the audience a unique musical experience, in which his characteristic vivacious temperament mixes with the romantic and lyrical side of a cello virtuoso. HAUSER’s style is electric, combining the unique sound of the cello with rock music and visual spectacle.

HAUSER has performed his new concert of classical, pop and rock music in major concert venues all over the world and has shifted the standards of the music industry with his interpretation. His version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” made him an internet sensation and not only captured millions of hearts, but also established him as one of the most prominent instrumentalists of this century.

With Duo 2Cello, HAUSER has toured the world – from the Royal Albert Hall to the Sydney Opera House and New York’s Madison Square Garden, selling over a million concert tickets. Around Christmas 2021, he performed for Pope Francis and has also been heard by American presidents, Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles.
