Info
Join us on a guided tour of the current international group exhibition 'Look into my Ice' at Tartu Kunstimaja and gain new insights into the artworks on display.
The purpose of the exhibition is to enhance empathy and raise awareness about the impact of melting glaciers and the effect it has on Estonia addressing the topic through the media of arts. We are the last generation able to save the earth from irreversible destruction in process. We need a sense of global responsibility because we are interdependent. Scientists, philosophers and culture psychologists have given hope that humans of today are able to change their behavioural patterns for the benefit of the earth and humankind. By directing our personal desires towards the environment and cultivating the necessary global and local community, we are then able to take care of mother earth as part of our own viscera.
The transeuropean project ‘Look into my Ice’ is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme. The exhibition is showing 15 international artists from all three European Capitals of Culture 2024: Bad Ischl-Salzkammergut/ Austria, Bodø/ Norway, Tartu/ Estonia and additionally Germany.
