The New Baltic Sound Quartet (Lithuania / Latvia) Pärt, Vasks, Beethoven-Vähi, Narvilaitė (premiere), Miliūnaitė
The New Baltic Sound Quartet, consisting of four renowned Baltic musicians, was founded in 2021, aiming to inspire the creation of new works by composers from the Baltic States and their promotion all over the world. The ensemble has performed in the main concert halls of Lithuania and Latvia and with the highest ratings at festivals such as the Gaida International Contemporary Music Festival, the International Festival ‘Permainų muzika’, the International Festival ‘Cello Cesis’ as well as Kintai Music Festival, where the quartet was a residing ensemble in 2023, performing new pieces by Peeter Vähi and a rising Lithuanian star composer Silvija Miliūnaitė that are included also in Glasperlenspiel’s programme.
Dalia Dédinskaité is one of the most prominent violinists of her generation in the Baltic States. She has won the main prize at the international competition “Violine in Dresden 2010” and has given numerous concerts around Europe, the USA and New Zealand. She has also performed as a soloist together with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Dresdner Kapellsolisten and the symphonic orchestra “Carl Maria von Weber” of Dresden. In 2014 she debuted at the Wiener Musikverein. Since 2017 Dédinskaité has held the position of assistant to Prof. Christian Altenburger at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
