From Loneliness to Togetherness – Solution Laboratory Hackathon for Youth

Solution Laboratory invites active and creative Tartu youth aged 9-18 to participate in the hackathon "From Loneliness to Togetherness."

This event is one of three hackathons* we are organizing to provide young people with the opportunity to develop their social skills, understand loneliness, and find solutions through friendship and empathy. The entire program is based on Vivita’s tested design process, which we have also used to introduce global education and address global issues through creative projects in various Estonian schools. The hackathon will take place from August 7-9, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Our partners for this event are Tartmus and Peaasi, who will help create a supportive and educational environment. Additionally, the authors of the Friendship Bench, Johanna and Karolin, will be present to inspire participants.

Each day includes a 30-minute lunch break, but we do not provide meals. We recommend bringing your own water bottle and food. Water bottles can be refilled for free on-site. There is also an option to have a plant-based or meat lunch at Green Room Cafe for €6.90.

The hackathon will take place next to Shaté, in a container in the Atlantis parking lot. If possible, please come in an environmentally friendly way (on foot, by bike, public transport, or carpooling). After the hackathon, the mobile workshop will be open to all participants and interested parties daily for two hours to work on and develop their projects.

*Hackathons also take place from August 14-16 and August 21-23.

Solution Laboratory’s hackathons are part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional program.

The event will be in Estonian, but there is a possibility for English translation.
