Info

Introduction A traditional annual Day of Folklore will take place, as it has taken place the last 24 years. We will celebrate the 104th year of organised social life in Assikvere. Also, the Village Theatre of Assikvere will celebrate its 15th birthday. The event is part of the programme "European Capital of Culture - Tartu 2024".

The main intentions of the event are: keeping alive the local Subdialect of Kodavere and the
cooperation between different generations. On the programme there will be a folklore show in
subdialect of Kodavere, brought to the stage by The Village Theatre of Assikvere. The script of
the show will be written by Ann Kilk.
A permanent exhibition “The story of the wheel of Assikvere” and a photo exhibition “104 years
of social life in Assikvere” will be waiting the visitors.
The Simman (a dancing event) “6 years of the dancing group of Assikvere” is going to take
place during the Day of Folklore as well. During the Simman, the folk and social dances will be
