Estonian Flag 140 on June 4, 2024 Otepää is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional program 04.06.2024 Morning brunch at the Pühajärvi song square, procession, church service, celebratory concert at the Otepää Culture House

Otepää and the Estonian flag have a very strong connection, as the first blue-black-white flag was consecrated in Otepää church on June 4, 1884. On the 140th anniversary of the Estonian flag, let’s take some time and celebrate this big birthday CELEBRATELY

09.30 – A cheerful morning brunch at the Pühajärvi song field
11.00 – Procession from Pühajärvi to Otepää church manor
11.45 – Birthday speeches in Otepää church manor
13.00 – Ecumenical service in Otepää Maarja church. The service is conducted by Archbishop Urmas Viilma. The event is free. All Estonian Student Corporations, collectives of Otepää schools and institutions and everyone who wants to participate in the procession and service.
19.00 – Festive concert dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Estonian Flag, where the Estonian National Opera Boys Choir will perform under the guidance of Hirvo Surva
