The audience will experience an immersive sound and visual art composition, a relaxing concert space and the power of an ancient sanctuary at a recumbent concert. The church has reclining chairs for listeners. If you wish, you can take a lying mat with you and lie down on the church pew or the floor and enjoy the concert just the way you like it.
OTTO IIVARI is a Finnish electroacoustic composer and a doctoral candidate at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. His focus is on spatial electroacoustic music created for multichannel settings and ambisonic systems. Iivar likes to explore the potential of organic sound, emphasizing space and sound movement in his compositions. In his creative work, he explores the interrelationships between expressive human movement and sound-perceived movement. Iivar’s work “Thở” won the 2022 European Sixth Student 3D Audio Competition in the contemporary/computer music category, and “Weightless” won 2nd place at the 2023 international Sonosfera Ambisonic Competition and reached the finals of the Prix Russolo 2023. Otto Iivari is currently doing artistic research under the supervision of Nikos Stavropoulos and Helena Tulve.
