Club night „New Beats for Europe“

"Europe" is a term that has different meanings for different people. For us, Europe stands for a common cultural identity that brings people together and lets them dance to the same rhythm. To celebrate this spirit of unity, the Goethe Institut Tallinn and the Finnish Institute are hosting a night of electrifying music featuring three talented DJs from three European countries.

The “New Beats for Europe” event will take place at Club Möku in Tartu on May 2. Get ready to groove to some unique beats, and join us in celebrating the diversity of European culture!
Ticket: 5 €

Eisi (Eisi Mäeots) is a DJ from Tallinn. She is known for being a member of local event series such as Tallinn Express and MÜRK.
Her DJ sets are seductive, sharp and well-built ranging from minimal house to groovy acidic electro and techno, requiring a deep connection with her selected music, one that lets her join the dots throughout hours of music to create a fluid, mesmerising journey for the dance floor. She has been spotted behind the decks at most of the clubs in Estonia, also in Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and even in Germany.

Miia Magia: Starting with her pure love for music, collecting records and clubbing lead Miia Magia to become one of the pioneering female figures in the Finnish club scene. Her musical journey took her through 90’s UK alternative rock and 00’s Nu Disco & House, finally arriving in today’s classic Deep House and Techno.
DJ’ing all over Finland, organizing parties and working residencies at legendary Helsinki clubs such as Semifnal, mbar and DTM also made her a strong character in the LGBTQ+ scene, leading the Helsinki Pride parade for several years in a row.

At the end of April, the Goethe-Institut will open the “Uudishimu ministeerium” in Tartu. For two weeks we dare to look ahead: How diverse will our society be in the future? How accessible will be our events, institutions, and cities? What does sustainability mean to us? How will we learn languages in the future? How are we going to live up to the European idea? The programme includes literature, film, art, music, panel discussions. | goethe.de/eesti
