Architour. Kolkhoz centers in Southern Estonia (Group is full!)

Architours are architecture- and art-themed tours organised by the Estonian Museum of Architecture.

As part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024, on October 12, Architour will take you on an exciting bus tour to visit valuable and interesting kolkhoz centres in Southern Estonia. These centres, designed by some of the finest Estonian architects, proudly represent the architecture of Estonia in the second half of the 20th century.

During the day tour, we will explore key sites such as the former kolkhoz centers of Põlva and Peri (designed by architects Vilen Künnapu, Ado Eigi, and Ann Toone), which are now used by the local municipality and community center. The special highlight of the tour is the Linda cultural centre in Kobela, designed by architect Toomas Rein and interior architect Aulo Padar in 1973. Adjacent to the cultural house is a distinctive postmodernist sauna completed in 1983. The bus tour will also feature glimpses of other examples of good architecture.

Guide for the tour will be heritage conservationist and associate professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts, Riin Alatalu.

The bus accommodates 30 participants. Detailed information about the tour will be sent to participants via email.
The participation fee of 15 euros includes lunch.
