Italy’s rising stars give chamber concert in the European Capital of Culture
This Saturday, 14 September, in the Tubina Hall of the Heino Eller Music School in Tartu, the chamber concert "From Tartu 2024 GO! 2025", bringing together two successive European Capitals of Culture - Tartu and Gorizia. The concert will feature two young and up-and-coming Italian musicians, Francesco Minutello (trumpet) and Nicolò Spolettini (piano), who will be joined by Estonian cellist Maali Toots and the leader of the ensemble, acclaimed percussionist Heigo Rosin.
In 2025, the Slovenian-Italian twin town of Nova Gorica – Gorizia will be the European Capital of Culture. The concert series “From Tartu 2024 GO! 2025” has been initiated by the Italian music festival Nei Suoni Dei. The concert will bring together three cities through music – the future European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica, Gorizia and the current Capital of Culture Tartu – and three countries – Slovenia, Italy and Estonia.
Saturday’s concert will feature trumpeter Francesco Minutello, pianist Nicolò Spolettini and young Estonian cellist Maali Toots. The ensemble will be conducted by the renowned young percussionist Heigo Rosin.
The free concert will take place on Saturday, 14 September, at 19:00 in the Tubina Hall of the Heino Eller Music School in Tartu.
The next performance of “Tartu 2024 GO! 2025” will take place on 4 October in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, with Alessandro Carbonare (clarinet), Victoria Nava (piano) and Estonian violinist Katariina Tammemägi.
Tartu is the European Capital of Culture together with Southern Estonia in 2024. The Slovenian-Italian twin town of Nova Gorica – Gorizia will take over the baton early next year with the creative concept “Go Borderless!”.
