Bike Stories, Art and Auction in the Heart of Tartu

On Thursday, 26 June from 18:00 to 21:00, Ajuokse Avangaar invites you to explore Tartu’s bicycle culture through art, stories and reuse.

PEDALS PARTS AND PEOPLE (PPP) collects abandoned bikes – and the stories they carry.
25. Jun 2025

What happens when a bicycle stops rolling? It’s forgotten in a basement, left to rust in a yard or abandoned on the street. But behind every broken bike, there’s a story – of movement, memories and possibilities. “PEDALS PARTS AND PEOPLE” (PPP) collects abandoned bicycles and the stories they carry – each frame holds a tale worth telling.

At Ajuokse Avangaar, these stories come to life in an installation by German artist Silvan Hagenbrock. His work explores the life of bicycles and cycling culture in Tartu: who rides, who stops, and what is left behind.

There will also be a bicycle auction during the evening. All bikes on display have been rescued from the streets and are looking for new owners. Whether you want to ride, restore, or reinvent – this is your chance. Come and give a forgotten frame a new life.

Rolling again – creatively.
