Väägvere Pasunakoor 185 is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme. Väägvere Pasunakoor was founded in 1839. In 2024 it will be 185 years and we will celebrate it with a concert, which will take place on March 30, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Estonian National Museum and an evening of memories afterwards.

Väägvere Pasunakoor is the oldest wind band in Estonia. Through the ages this collective has contributed to the activities of the community, while being an important part of Estonian cultural history. The orchestra gathers several generations of music lovers to make music together.

On March 30, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., the 185th anniversary concert of the Väägvere Pasunakoor will be held at the Estonian National Museum. In addition to the Väägvere Pasunakoor, Pühajärve-Rõngu Puhkpilliorkester will also perform at the concert, also Torma Puhkpilliorkester, with whom we have cooperated for a long time, and a group of friends from Germany. The concert will be followed by an evening of memories, during which we will gather information from former orchestra players and other figures of Estonian wind music about the history of the orchestra(s), with the aim of storing it.
