Kissing Tartu is an initiative based on care and respect, consisting of an international educational programme, audio performances and a concert production accompanied by an unprecedented mass kissing event. Let’s talk about the profound and diverse meaning of a kiss, through education and culture!

First Kiss – an international education programme for young people
One of the most important skills in life is to recognise, understand and express love. Tartu is a city where this should be possible for everyone. We want everyone in Tartu and Estonia to be treated well, regardless of nationality, race, age, gender or ideology.

The activities are curated by the NGO Tartu Student House.
– An international e-quiz for 4,000 young people to test their knowledge in the field of sexual health and health education.
– On the 17th of May, an international conference will be held in Tartu for 100 professionals and educators working with young people.
– “Emotions of Love” virtual reality experience, which deals with the complexity of relationships.
– “Human and Sexuality” research competition organised by the University of Tartu Youth Academy and the Estonian Research Council, will focus on the research articles of 7th-12th grade students.

The project has been developed in cooperation with partners from Estonia (University of Tartu, Tartu Student House, MaruVR), Denmark (Schools for Health), Czechia (Institute for Regional Development) and Malta (Agenzija Zghazagh). The project is supported by Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps Agency under the Erasmus+ programme.
