Hybrid European Democracy Festival is a discussion festival that seeks to connect people from all over Europe. For two days in May 2024, this festival joins people for discussions from over 20 festival hubs in European cities. The festival is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme. The discussions will be held in English

Europe is facing deepening challenges and political disruptions that require cross-border solutions and cooperation more than ever. At the same time, we rarely share the ground to talk about the ways forward together. The Hybrid European Democracy Festival happens at more than 20 European cities, therefore it allows for a truly international experience and thanks to that gives a possibility for thoughtful public opinion to emerge with many different perspectives. We strive to encourage a discussion that values sharing different perspectives, creating understanding and inspiration for action. Join us to talk about similar issues with your own peers. People can engage different ideas, visions and voices in public debates which gives them new insight into what is truly possible on an European level. The new hyperlocal discussion will allow you to seamlessly exchange ideas and thoughts with people from other countries without leaving your hometown. Find your closest festival hub to attend and be part of the new experience!
