Info

The Arts of Survival are the knowledge, skills, values that help us live well in the future. The four most important Arts of Survival, which are expressed in the Tartu 2024 program, are originality, sustainability, alertness and co-creativity. We express these Arts through our hands-on workshops, photo exhibition and stage production.

We hope that our home lights will also attract people from outside the region, who are interested in our practical skills and the unique story of our region, in which there is recognition for everyone and the beauty of our lovely home.

Programme:

At the same time, accordion master Aigar Koppel will be performing in the lobby and talking about what the instrument consists of. You can test your sense of rhythm by playing some simpler instruments.

14:00-16:00 PLAY “HOME LIGHTS ATTRACT”
A play and discussion inspired by Aino Kopp’s poetry collection “Home Fires” and co-created by LendTeater, Konguta Community Center and Konguta School.

Although our story is about people around Konguta area, it brings out universal themes that speak to a wider audience. The performance uses the poems of a local poetess Aino Kopp. The central theme is “home” and lasting in the flow of time, and home lights are the ones that enchant and bind together the past, present and future together, just like the leather artist Eduard Taska, who in his time captured memories and our cultural heritage in leather bindings.

Enchanting Home Lights is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
