Project Tartu World University is a communal academy, where South Estonian active communities meet with the world's top scientists and cultural actors.
This project participates in the first Tartu 2024 culture and education programme development process, as a part of "Tartu with Europe" programme line. Projects that successfully complete the process will advance to the official European Capital of Culture programme.

During the European Capital of Culture title year, Tartu World University and its local partners will host 14 public discussion days and the World University conference, which will focus on solving the problems of a certain community or region, sharing experiences and crafting long-term plans. Every planned academy event will bring one world-class expert to Estonia, who will help offer solutions to the issue brought forward by the community and empower and inspire them.
