On 28 August, after the Tartu 2024 team presents our bid book "Arts of Survival" to the international jury, they will decide whether Tartu & Southern Estonia will become the European Capital of Culture 2024. Regardless of the result, on 31 August Tartu 2024 invites all Tartuvians, Southern Estonians, and our guests to the Widget Factory (Aparaaditehas) to celebrate the finale of those inspiring years of being a candidate city.
During this time over 1000 people contributed to Tartu's candidacy and many more have kept their fingers crossed for us. We are deeply grateful for all this support!
The celebration will be hosted by the Widget Factory Festival 2019 and dedicated to all of you! We'll have a number of melomaniac DJ's from the Tartu 2024 team and two great Southern Estonian bands: OOPUS and Popsid!
