Project Hidden Worlds Expanding centers on art made by people with mental special needs. The project is led by the Kondas Centre in Viljandi.
This project participates in the first Tartu 2024 culture and education programme development process, as a part of "Tartu with Humanity" programme line. Projects that successfully complete the process will advance to the official European Capital of Culture programme.

Mental health issues are very important in the society. Supported creative self-expression may have and often has a therapeutic, encouraging and overall positive effect on a person with special needs.

In 2024 joint exhibitions by special needs artists from Estonia, Eastern Europe (Latvia, Czechia, Poland, Romania and Serbia) and third countries (Russia and Georgia) will be held in Tartu, Viljandi and Pärnu. Moreover, the project will host a seminar and a catalogue introducing outsider art will be published.
