How to Engage Volunteers Skilfully in Cultural Management? That is the main question of the international Culture Compass capacity building forum on 21 November 2019, hosted by Tartu 2024 and Tartu City's Department of Culture. The event was the highlight of the Culture Compass forums of 2019, with speakers from Estonia, Finland, Hungary and Lithuania.
This time cultural managers and creators met and shared experiences of engaging volunteers of different backgrounds and generations in Europe and Estonia. What are the best practices for managing volunteers? How can their skills be developed? How should Tartu and Southern Estonia approach involving youths, the elderly and people from different cultures as volunteers at events, projects and in culture in general?
These and other questions were addressed at the forum's main programme running from 13.30 to 18.00 (with breaks and Q&A's), followed by an informal networking session. See also the Facebook event.
