Using cover crops in the garden is still a little-known method, but it has many benefits. Come and learn how to maintain soil fertility and make gardening easier by using cover crops in your garden.

The evening begins with a lecture on which cover crops to use in Estonian conditions, when and how to sow them. After the lecture, we will sow different cover crops together.

Associate professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences Liina Talgre, gives the lecture and supervises the sowing.

NB! The event is held in Estonian.

The event will take place in Tartu Maheaia Linnupargi garden. You can enter the garden from the large parking lot close to the Linnupargi bus stop. Public transport bus number 11 stops here.

Bicycle roads from the directions of the city center, Annelinn and Ihaste also bring to the garden conveniently. There is a bike rack in the parking lot. Smart Bike Share bicycle parking lot is across the road.

The event is part of the audience program of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 project “Growing with Your Food”.

“Growing with Your Food” project is led by the Research Centre of Organic Farming of Estonian University of Life Sciences, Estonian Green School initiative and Tartu Nature House, partnered by European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024.
