The NAKS festival will take place from 5-9 November 2024 in Tartu. NAKS is the only theater festival in Estonia aimed entirely at young audiences, i.e. children and young people.

The NAKS festival showcases the diversity of theatre for children and young people. Over five days, theatre in differnt genres will be on show: visual theatre, puppet theatre, spoken word, dance and contemporary circus. The programme also includes productions for audiences that are generally less likely to experience theatre, such as people with special needs and babies.

The main programme of the festival will feature eleven theatre companies from Estonia and five outside Estonia. In addition, there will be workshops, a children’s and youth culture conference, public readings of plays and discussion groups.

International Theatre Festival for Young Audiences NAKS is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
