Do the stars mind you? is an audiovisual journey that creates a bridge between us and the celestial space. Those from whom we are not used to hearing comments - the celestial bodies above our heads - can speak. During the evening, the audience will be part of an opening audio journey, a spectacular concert and a thought-provoking short lecture.

Through space, music and words, the event explores the connections between people and finds dialogue moments. Opening up the subject in an unexpected and creative way helps to approach the critically important from a different angle.

The installation will be created on the grounds of the Tartu observatory. With sound, light, projection and lasers, space and extraterrestrial perception space are made audible and visible. Those from whom we are not used to hearing comments – the celestial bodies above our heads – can speak. With the help of technology, a perspective is opened on the astral soul life, and the expected environment that we take for granted – starry sky – takes on a new meaning. The emphases change, the ostensible audience becomes the exposition, and the ostensible exposition becomes the commentator.

The concert is intended to introduce the authorship of a lesser-known Estonian artist or group, offering them a platform to perform.
The purpose of the short lecture/discussion round is to further open up the discussed topics and offer the audience the opportunity to speak and exchange ideas in a free form.

Do the stars mind you? is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
