On Thursday September 12th 2024 the Cambridge University Centre for Geopolitics and the Baltic Defence College in Tartu are holding a seminar in Tartu, entitled 'Arts of survival in the Baltic: Russia’s futures and their implications’ The purpose of the seminar is to consider the various implications for the region of changes in Russia as a consequence of the current conflict in the Ukraine.

Arts of Survival in the Baltic: Russias Fututes and their implications

On Thursday September 12th 2024 the Cambridge University Centre for Geopolitics and the Baltic Defence College in Tartu are holding a seminar in Tartu, entitled ‘Arts of survival in the Baltic: Russia’s futures and their implications’. It is being supported by the British Embassies in Tallinn and Riga.

The purpose of the seminar is to consider the various implications for the region of changes in Russia as a consequence of the current conflict in the Ukraine.
The event will comprise an invitation-only seminar, followed by a public open and streamed meeting, entitled “Arts of Survival on the Border with Russia”. This fits in with the programme of Tartu – European Capital of Culture 2024, whose overall leading theme is ‘Arts of Survival’.

The invitation-only seminar will consist of three sessions, addressing:-
1) Scenarios for Russia’s Future
2) Implications for Small Neighbours
3) Implications for Global Geopolitics and the World Order
and the public, open session will address:
4) Arts of Survival on the Border with Russia

The conference will take place at the hotel Lydia (https://lydia.ee/en) in the centre of Tartu, and will be followed by a Reception.
