ARSIS presents: “Echoes of Estonia – traditional folk treasures”

Performers: Tartu Arsis handbell ensemble and Kärt Kull (Theatre Vanemuine). Program consists of Estonian archaic folk songs and tunes, arranged for handbells by Tõnu Kõrvits.

The pieces played at the concert convey the stories of our ancestors about everyday life. Fragments of Estonian poetry can be heard alternately with musical narrations.
The concert is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Arsis Handbell School. All the performers at the concert are graduates of the Handbell School. The interludes will be read by Kärt Kull, an actress from the Vanemuine Theatre, who also has a background as a handbell player in the Arsis concert ensembles. The Tartu Arsis Handbell Ensemble will be conducted by Mari Tooming.

Concert is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 side programme.
