Tartu Town Hall Square is gearing up to witness an historic event on 18 May 2024, which is sure to have tongues wagging, despite whatever people might say about the modesty and coolness of Estonians! The concert will be performed to the soundtrack of much loved Eurovision songs, including previous Estonian entries, and it will relay the story of Tartu, Estonia and Europe through music.

A spectacular concert and mass kissing event in the heart of Tartu will also mark the 30th anniversary of Estonia’s first participation in Eurovision.
The concert will feature video snippets that bring us to the heart of the ‘kissing epidemic’ taking over Tartu. Maria, a sceptical expert from Europe, and Kristo, a young Estonian genetic scientist, will investigate the matter, and together try to find a solution to this mystery. However, it may well transpire that the solution lies in the heart of Tartu itself. All culminating in an unprecedented mass kissing event!

The audience can expect fresh, unexpected combinations. Familiar, much-loved stories get a new lease of life. On 18 May, we will stage an experience that will lift spirits and live in the memory long after the title of Capital of Culture has moved on. The musical director of the concert is Siim Aimla. Conchita Wurst (Austria), Victor Crone (Sweden) and stars of the Estonian music scene such as Rolf Roosalu, Lenna Kuurmaa, Birgit Sarrap, Ivo Linna, Koit Toome, Ott Lepland, Alika Milova and many others will perform as soloists. More to be revealed in time!
