Info
The XVII PUKA ÖÖLAULUPIDU dedicated to the Estonian Independence Day is part of the additional program of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024. Puka Öölaulpidu party brings a hundred choir singers, who sing together with excellent lead singers in the cozy evening in the park of the Puka Culture House.
Every year, the Puka night singing party has gained more and more popularity and it can be seen that the event is constantly growing. The fact that several hundred people are singing and dancing together in a small Estonian village at the same time is extremely nice and powerful. It’s also nice that the Puka night song party has developed into one of the biggest summer events in Valgamaa and one can even safely say – Southern Estonia. Singing has always been a part of traditional Estonian culture. The community of Otepää parish has honored choral singing, group singing and music. The organization of night singing parties of Otepää municipality twice a year has become a long-term tradition.
