Viljandi Organ Festival is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional programme.
The rich colour palette of the majestic organ together with the soft sounds of the Latvian folk instrument kokle creates a very special sound world. They speak of the ancient times and our ancestors and help to raise our eyes to the sky, away from the daily routine.
Liga Ivane is a well-known Latvian organist who regularly gives concerts and performs at festivals. Ieva presents a relative of estonian kannel both as an ethnographic instrument and as a concert version.
