The Varnja Fish Fair is a fair event created to preserve and introduce lake Peipus area fishing traditions, which has grown larger over time and has joined several regional events on the same day. The Varnja Fish Fair cooperates with the All-Estonian Open Fishing Ports Day and Sibulatee Fish Buffet Day.

In the joint programme:

• Sale of fish products and hot smoked fish straight from the oven
• Fishing boat trips on Lake Peipus (free of charge)
• Presentation of commercial fishing and port work, workshops
• Fishing competition starting at 10.30 am. Tasty prizes for the most skilled participants!
• Local food
• Pony rides and petting zoo from Tamme Ratsutalu
• Lake Peipus workshops for children from Tartu Loodusmaja
• DJ Raido Pall keeps the mood

Varnja Kalalaat is part of the Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional program.
