On May 18, in the borough of Luunja, within the the Let’s Do It collective action day, cleaning up will take place on river Emajõgi. The shore of Emajõgi will be cleaned up to 100 km in length.
The cleaning of river Emajõgi is organized by the Tartu County Development Association, which is a part of the main program of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 and is supported by the South Estonian Community Program together with LEADER action groups.
Cleaning will be done on the route of Luunja-Ihaste-Luunja-Kavastu-Luunja. In addition to cleaning on the shore, volunteers who can join with their own boat are also welcome. You can register on the “Teeme Ära” volunteer page https://teemeara.ee/en. At the end of the day, volunteers are offered delicious soup and pie.
