From 19 to 22 June 2024 MERKO Baltic championships in road cycling will take place in Võrumaa. At the competition, the best cyclists of the Baltic countries aged 15-75+ will be crowned. On June 20, there will be a joint bike ride, where the competition track will be explored and fans and amateurs will be able to compete with the top riders.

MERKO Baltic Road Championships are an eventful cycling event, where races are organized for professional athletes and amateurs, as well as joint training and a public event for everyone.

19.06, the competition centre is located in Põlva municipality on the grounds of the Road Museum. The race course runs from the Road Museum on Puskaru-Kähri-Kiuma-Ihamaru-Varbus roads in Põlva municipality.
20-22.06, the competition centre will be located on the central square of Võru (Seminar square). The race course runs through the city of Võru, past Lake Kubija, along the Meegomäe road to the Rõuge-Verijärve road, and from there back to the city of Võru.

Based on the specifics of the Estonain Raod museum it is difficult to move with a wheelchair in the historical road space and the courtyard of the post station and its immediate surroundings, because road surfaces from different eras are exhibited there. The permanent exhibition on the first floor of the main building of the old post station is accessible by a ramp. Handicapped toilets are located in the Teemaja and the machine hall. The visually impaired can visit the museum with a guide if they wish.

In the Võru central square in the competition centre, there is room to move around with wheelchairs, strollers and other aids. A big screen will also be set up in the campus, where all spectators can watch the competition. A commentator will also comment on the course of the competition on the spot.

Public spaces near both campuses are wheelchair-friendly and have ramps and disabled toilets. People with special needs can observe the event and move freely around the competition campuses.
