Info

Uma Pido is a party for people. It celebrates joy, worldview and courage that are so characteristic for the people of South Eastern Estonia. Uma Pido combines values that are so important for Estonia – spirit of the place (genius loci) and tradition of song festivals.

The keyword of sixth Uma Pido is game. Playing games brings us joy of being, singing and breathing together. Uma Pido invites everybody from old Võrumaa, as well their friends from elsewhere in Estonia and abroad. Even the audience can sing along with the choirs, since the lyrics are available in the party booklet.
Concert is entirely in Võro language. It includes older and newer folk songs, classical choral music and new songs. Some of the songs are familiar to many people; some music will be performed for the first time.

This unique song festival is held entirely in Võro language, and it belongs to the additional program of “European capital of culture Tartu 2024”.
